Owner's Comments
Our Prince Kuhio #211 is a large, 750 sq ft condo.
The location is perfect, situated on the 2nd floor in the
middle of the resort provides great pool and tropical garden
views as well as great ocean views.
The bedroom is very large with a king size bed and a 25 sq ft
lanai and great ocean views, mountain view, park views and
sunrise views. You can hear the ocean from the bedroom at night!
The kitchen is fully equipped with all the utilities and lots of
extras right down to a coffee bean grinder! There are also 2
phones and a digital answering machine. Bed linens, towels,
beach towels, hair dryer, iron and board, even some beach gear
are available for your convenience and comfort.
In the kitchen, there is a new refrigerator, a microware, an
electric stove, and cabinets on the right side. The sink,
large counter top, and most of the cabinets are on the left side.
The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, cookware, utinsils, appliances,
dish towels, and tupperware. There are lots of little extras
in all those cabinets and drawers!
The bedroom is very large with a king size bed, wall-to-wall
windows, and sliding glass doors that open onto the lanai (deck).
The glass doors open directly over Prince Kuhio Park. The
mountain views are to the North and the ocean views are to
the South. The sun rises (straight ahead) from the East over
the park. Early in the morning, you can catch those
beautiful Kauai sunrises! We think they are often more
beautiful than the sun sets but you be the judge!

The magic and mystery and sacredness of this island have been overwhelming.
Waimea Canyon inspired respect and reverence; Spouting Horn compelled us
to smile each time it spouted; sunsets made us say "Oh, wow".
We love #211 and will return, we know. Some places are more than places.
This is one of them.

I can't thank you enough for sharing you home and island with us. Eight
days was simply not enough to begin to experience the beauty, color, peace,
and feelings of this place. Everything you've provied - the little touches like extra reading glasses, the reading lights help make this perfect.
Thank you, Barb Stevens
This is our 2nd delightful stay in Prince Kuhio #211 on our favorite
isle! Our 50th anniversary celebration here in 2006 was so memorable
that the pull to return was much stronger than the option to explore
the other islands. We revisited favorite haunts (Waimea Canyon, North
Shore, Hamuea's Saimon, Shrimp Station, etc). However, we know from
past exploration that grabbing our masks and snorkels and walking
2 1/2 minutes to the Beach House beach would reward us with all the
beautiful and varied fish one could hope for.
Two "unusual" sights: Lydgate Beach was totally filled with
vegetation debris after the flash floods of Nov 14th ... heavy equipment
will be clearing it for 2+ weeks. Spotted a humpback whale off Beach House
lawn, cavorting for 15 min or so.
This visit we celebrated both of us cresting over the 3/4 century mark ...
the lord has been gracious to grant us this many years and so many
wonderful travel memories.

We have had a great time. ourfirst visit to Kauai. Your condo was so well equipped we really appreciated the extras (chairs, cooler, mats, beach towels). As well as the well equipped kitchen! The travel books were well used. Loved the Beach House, Keoki's, Sunsets and snorkeling at Beach House beach. We enjoyed everything abou this lush island. We still have lots more to do so will return!!

Our last nights in the islands ended here. Great to be in a comfy, homey atmosphere before we head back to the Monterey Bay. We will definately pass along our find of #211 Prince Kuhio on Kauai!

Dorinda and Jack, you have the perfect spot in the condo and you have
equipped it nicely. Thank you for even the small things such as hanging hooks and night lights! This is our last night here and we've covered at least the highlights of the island. Neither of us are avid hikers but wish we were - have enjoyed learning to snorkel!
After getting over the shock of no air conditioning and no trade winds
this week, we learned to tolerate the humidity and enjoy your ceiling
fans, awaking to the birds and the waves and the roosters. this has been
a noisy week at the property as workmen started in at 9:30 am with jack
hammers around the pool removing and replacing the tiles and sawing them
to make them fit in front of door and windows. No sleeping in late - no
swimming in the pool until Thursday.

A wonderful vacation from our vacation. Just missed the Manilla floods!
Great location. Snorkled Beach House and saw lots of turtles. Tunnels
was closed because of heavy surf the days we were there.
Kilauea Point is worth a trip. Kokee State park near Waimea has some
amazing hiking.
Appreciated the fins and mats - did have to rent one pair - someone
has big feet! Almost forgot the all day catamaran up to NaPali Coast -
very neat.

Aloha -
Well it's our last night in Hawaii after an amazing week. Best
vacation ever. Enjoyed every minute here from snorkling across
the street and at Tunnels to going up to the Waimea Canyon (for
everyone you have to do that). The tour through the Allerton Gardens is
just beautiful. The shave ice at Phua Dog was a nice treat and the
atmosphere at Keoki's Paradise was pretty cool. Also Smith's Luau is
a def. must. Our first time in Hawaii couldn't have been better.
Coming back to the condo after a day of adventures was perfect. To
Jack & Dorinda - you truly have a fantastic place. Thank you so much
for sharing it with us. And we will be back.

We truly enjoyed our time in Kauai. Your condo is beautiful and it
made our stay just like our own. Thanks for leaving the chairs and
cooler, many a picnic were had because of the litle extra things you
thought of. Your Hawaiian music ws very special too! We enjoyed
Waimea Canyon and the hike at the end which was a bit slippery but
well worth the fabulous lookout points of the NaPali coastline.
We also took the sunset cruise (caamaran) of the NaPali coast, great!
I almost forgot to mention the great shave ice at JoJo's in Waimea,
#12 was super. We cannot say enough about NaAinaKai Botanical
Gardens - we took a 3 hour tour which turned out to be 4 and it was
magnificent.
Thanks for the memories

We had a wonderful time in Kauai and contemplate living here someday.
We spent our first week on island hiking the NaPali Coast and camping on
Kalalau beach. WAY harder than people make it seem! We still can't believe
that trail is open to humans! We spent 3 nights in Kapaa and the 2nd week at this wonderful condo. The breeze is fantastic! Unfortunately, construction
noise and dust made it impossible to stay here during the day, but we
always looked forward to coming home in the evening (after 5!). While on
Kauai, we hiked, biked, kayaked, flew in powered hang gliders, surfed,
swam, snorkeled, and ate way too much. "The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook"
by Andrew Doughty was indespinsable. We especially enjoyed dinner at
C. J.'s in Princeville, The Wrangler in Waimea, Shrimp Station in
Waimea and the Beach House across the street. Renting bikes at
Coconut Coasters in Kapaa and riding 4 miles to Donkey Beach with a
picnic lunch was great! We used the sand chairs almost every day and the 2
backpacks helped alot. Thanks so much for everything. It's a trip we
will never forget.

We celebrated our 25th anniversary here at your comfortable condo. We
enjoyed our stay and Kauai has become our favorite island. Highlights
include dinner and sunsets at the beach house. Hiking down to the Hideaways
Beach on the North Shore; shaved ice aloha style; a very authentic rendition of
"South Pacific" with our very own Gary - from the condos (he gave us a
coupon too); waterfall days which is what we called it. And we saw as
many as we could. They are beautiful. Loved the roosters, loved the
breeze that blows through the condo, love the sound of the ocean when I
drift off to sleep and when I wake up. Love my husband of 25 years for
making all this happen. Thank you for sharing your condo with us.

Our first visit to Hawaii. Everyone said Kauai is the best island and
I]m guessing they were right! We had perfect weather every day, visited
the entire island twice and also got a bit of R & R. Blue Hawaii gave
us an awesome helicopter tour, Smith's Luau was beautiful and the food
was ono (delicious). We went ziplining with Backcountry and had such a
blast that we went again two days later! I'd recommend it to everyone!!
Mahalo, Jack & Dorinda for providing us a nice place to stay during our
2 weeks on this garden isle.

Our first visit to the island of Kauai and after spending part of the
week at the Hyatt made our way here. Great location and easy access
to everything. We managed to cover most of the island in our short
stay, driving to the North Shore one day and then West another. Enjoyed
many of the unique little shops we encounered in our travels! Highlings
include seeing a monk seal and turtles as well as visiting shrimp station
and the theatrical luau.
Mahalo for sharing your vacation home!

This is my 2nd visit to 211 Prince Kuhio and after arriving at night
in the blowing, pounding rain, it was great to step into this familiar
home away from home - especially after taking the wrong turn on that
new traffic circle! I hope the Kukiula Shopping Center doesn't take
away from this quiet little corner in Kauai.
Started every morning walking to the end of the road past the spouting
horn and then back past the condo to the Kukuiula Market store for the
morning paper. The store has lots of organic natural products. The
Kauai grown avacodos are huge and yummy. A good treat - cappuccinio
and macadamia nut shortbread cooking at the Kalaheo Cafe. As always,
everything you need is nearby - great snorkeling and good food.

Thank you so mch Jack & Dorinda for sharing this place in paradise.
We had a lot of rain during our stay, almost every day ... but we made the
most of it. Hiking, snorkeling and beach times.
Hiking on the Nualolo trail was very difficult but then encountering
the Nualolo cliff trail there ws a spot of 8 in. wide with 2000 ft drop on
one side. The other side was a sheer mountain but the sides of the
mountain crumbled when you leaned into it. If you value your life, we
wouldn't recommend it.
The condo is great ... location wise ... and with great snorkeling off
the Poipu Beach. Thanks for the snorkeling stuff. We especially enjoyed
the ocean breezes at night, the location of the condo and all the
amenities of the condo.
What we thought would be helpful too add is a potatoe peeler, 8x16 inch
panand a 8x8 baking pan. the scuba diving with Sea-Sport Diving ws the best.
Lots of turtles and fish not to be missed if you like diving. All in all
a great time.

Note from Jack & Dorinda: please don't pack a potato peeler or baking pan as they are in the condo. :-)
Aloha!
We have enjoyed staying here for the week of warm sunny weather
while on our honeymoon. We stayed in Princeville for a week and our
wedding ws on the Big Island. All of it flew by!
We recommend the Allerton Botanical Gardens, Waimea Canyon was
spectacular, snorkeling across the street, the Grand Hyatt at
least for lunch, JoJo's shaved ice, and sunsets across the
street after which everyone claps. It's so cute! :-)

Even 3 weeks wasn't long enough here in beautiful Kauai.
We saw most of the sights again the first 10 days with
our friends - thank goodness.
Because the last part was an emergency at midnight with my husband
having emergency kidney stone surgery at your wonderful hospital.
Everyone could not have been nicer.
He did fine and after a couple of days we were dining and watching
beautiful sunsets again. Your condo and its views were gorgeous. We
hate to leave.

40 years ago we celebrated our 1st anniversary in the islands at the expense
of the US Army - an R&R from Vietnam. We have returned twice but do think
this week rivals the first. We found this a little "hidaway" yet in the
middle of so many fun things to do. We loved the snorkeling at Lawai Beach
and walking to Spouting Horn. We drove to the end of the highway in both
directions and took the side roads to the canyon and many lookouts.
We enjoyed learning "insider" secrets from previous journal entries. Here
are two of ours to share; Take advantage of the Early Bird Dinner at
Keoki's Paradise - $20 for salad, entree and dessert! Also don't miss dinner
theatre - South Pacific - starring Prince Kuhio's very own Gary Hughey. The
onsite manager of this complex (get a discount coupon from him). We loved
the show and dinner is good too.
Having a spacious place like #211 is a treat. Windows over the park and
also over the garden pool make it unique. We have a vacation rental home
in Bend, Oregon so we appreciate all the homey touches you have included
that we feel make a place special. Thank you. We do hope to return some day.
